When you look at your social feed or turn on the idiot box, there’s no denying we are divided as a human race. But there’s one event that helps restore my faith in humanity, where motorcycle riders from every continent unite to ride on the same day for a unified cause. This year, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) worldwide campaign is befittingly themed “Side by Side”. This ride invites individuals to unite not only in their love for motorcycles and dapper attire, but also in their commitment to raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.

The date has been locked in – on Sunday the 19th of May 2024, DGR is coming to a city near you. The world’s largest charity event for classic and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts will return in style to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. This year, the DGR is calling on riders from across the globe to join forces for a monumental push towards hosting 1000 rides simultaneously.

“In 2024, we have set ourselves the goal of reaching 1000 cities around the world,” says the founder of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, Mark Hawwa. “We have ridden with each other on the same day all around the world since 2012. Our community is one that comes together, despite borders and oceans, riding side by side to raise increasingly critical funds and awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer. DGR 2024 is the year that we celebrate our fellow gentlefolk around the world that we ride alongside, united by a passion, and driven by the cause.”

Triumph Motorcycles have, of course, returned to continue their support for the event with collaborative merchandise featuring both the DGR and Triumph brands, as well as reward the event’s highest fundraiser with a brand spankin’ new motorcycle. This year they have stepped it up a notch and are handing over the keys to one of the most iconic Triumph models ever made – the Thruxton 1200 Final Edition.

Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer of Triumph Motorcycles, added: “We share the DGR’s ambitious goal for 2024: to bring even more riders together, in more places around the globe, to raise even more money for men’s mental health and prostate cancer. We are working side by side with the DGR and our growing global dealer network to help achieve 1000 rides. This year, we will be rewarding the highest fundraiser with an iconic motorcycle; the Thruxton 1200 Final Edition, as well as donating a number of prizes to Team Triumph fundraisers. In this way, we hope to unite and inspire Triumph riders across the world on 19 May to join Team Triumph, dress dapper, raise money and enjoy the ride.”
